You never know where inspiration will strike, do you?
While on a recent field trip with my middle grade students, I suddenly had a fabulous new idea.
A shiny, spectacular idea!
I started to jot it down, and before I knew it, I didn’t just have an idea, but an entire plot! I was floored. I don’t believe I’ve ever had an idea form quite so quickly.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
The more I thought about it though, the more I realized many parts of it had been swirling around my mind since last April when I’d accompanied this same class to this same setting. A couple of really thoughtful student questions today, put everything in it’s place.
Wow!
I’m really looking forward to developing this.
